⭐⭐⭐ Homecoming 2021! 🏈☘️

We are excited to celebrate this year’s Homecoming festivities on September 11 through September 18! The theme for Homecoming 2021 is “An Evening Under the Stars.” All St. Patrick students are encouraged to participate in the school-sponsored traditions and events of Homecoming Week in anticipation of the big game on Friday, September 17.

For many, Homecoming is a special occasion that involves evening activities that extend beyond the school-sponsored activities and events. As such, we urge parents to communicate with their child about their expectations and values for non-school-sponsored activities. As a school community, may we all pledge to promote a safe and enjoyable Homecoming experience by establishing consistent, lawful expectations for all of our students.

Listed below are the events we have scheduled for Homecoming Week:

Saturday, September 11: Alumni Mass and Social – We hope to see all alumni at our Alumni Mass and Social on Saturday, September 11, at 6 p.m.! We are honored to have Bishop Kihneman celebrate this year’s Alumni Mass. Family and friends are welcome to attend, and childcare will be provided. There is no fee to attend, and Bishop Kihneman has approved for this Vigil Mass to count as your Sunday obligation.

Monday, September 13: Homecoming Teacher vs. Student Volleyball Game – Monday afternoon, the St. Patrick faculty will take on selected students from each grade level in competition in our Homecoming Teacher vs. Student Volleyball Game. With excitement on the court, will St. Patrick students defeat their teachers? Or will our teachers win with their experience and wit? Teachers are the reigning champions! This event is only open to St. Patrick students and is free to attend.

Tuesday, September 14: Irish Idol – Talented St. Patrick students will perform in an “American Idol” style variety show beginning at 9:40 a.m. in the gymnasium. This event is open to all St. Patrick students and parents, and is free to attend.

Wednesday, September 15: Homecoming Family Movie Night – We have rented out the entire Grand Theatre in D’Iberville on Wednesday, September 15. Showtime begins at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge for admission to this event, and this event is open to St. Patrick students and family members of St. Patrick students. We will send an email as it gets closer to reserve – everyone must have a ticket to attend. Concessions (popcorn, drinks, candy, etc.) will be available for purchase.

Thursday, September 16: Homecoming Mass and Classic Luncheon – Our Homecoming Mass will begin at 9:40 a.m., and the Homecoming Court will be presented following Mass. For our annual St. Patrick Classic Luncheon, a special lunch will be served in the cafeteria today in honor of Homecoming Week. I am cooking, and lunch is on me today for all students, faculty, and staff – and it’s sure to be a treat!

Friday, September 17: Homecoming Family Picnic, Pep Rally, and Football Game – Students will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m. for the Homecoming Picnic Lunch with their families. Each grade level will have an assigned area of campus for their picnic luncheon. Parents may bring food, lawn chairs, blankets, and tents – and may begin setting up at noon.

Our Homecoming Pep Rally will take place at 2:15 p.m. at the stadium. Parents and guests may attend the Homecoming Pep Rally.

The Fighting Irish varsity football team will take the field at 7 p.m. against Resurrection High School, and the 2021 Homecoming Court will be presented during halftime.

Saturday, September 18: Elegant Homecoming Dinner – Students in grades 9-12 are invited to attend our Elegant Homecoming Dinner in the gymnasium at 7 p.m. Tickets may be pre-purchased online or in the main office for $30; tickets will not be sold at the door. We will email a link to purchase tickets soon.  Attire for the evening is semi-formal: dressy dresses or pant suits for ladies and a suit with a tie for men. The Homecoming Court will be presented at the dinner.   Each member of the Homecoming Court will be allowed to bring up to seven guests. Students who would like to request a date who attends another school must submit the Out-of-School Guest Request Form. Everyone in attendance must pre-purchase a ticket.

The St. Patrick Student Council has planned the following themes for each day of the “An Evening Under the Stars” themed Homecoming Week.
