At Saint Patrick Catholic High School, the words basketball and “Grieves” are synonymous!   That’s because St. Patrick boys’ coach Danny and girls’ coach Kim Grieves are the parents of two Fighting Irish star players, Daniel, a junior and Jackson, a freshman.   Coach Danny and son Daniel have recently been recognized for their outstanding abilities from the sidelines and on the court.

Coach Danny has been named as one of the coaches for the MS/AL All-Star game that will be played in Pelham, AL on March 19.

Daniel has been selected as a player in the Mississippi All-Star game that will be held in Jackson on July 10. Juniors are recognized for this honor. This year Daniel was named District 8 3A Most Valuable Player and is the highest scorer in the state according to MAXPREPS. Daniel averaged 28.9 points, 14.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 5.2 steals per game this year for the Irish. He also plays for the Jackson Tigers AAU Program which is currently rated 5th nationwide.

“Our family is proud to be a part of St. Patrick,” said Coach Danny. “We are certainly looking forward to next year’s season when we can build on the successes of this year.”
