Students in Ms Lawson's Environmental Science class participated in a lab in which they studied the effects of disappearing sea ice in Antarctica.  They formed various specialist groups: ornithologists, oceanographers, meteorologists, marine ecologists, and fisheries biologists.  Each group graphed then analyzed its own data sets.

They observed general trends over the past 30 years in krill, chinstrap benguins, and Adelie penguin populations, as well as changing show and ice patterns.  They then returned to their home group, which consisted of one student from each specialty, and compared their data and findings in order to give explanations for the various changes in Antarctic populations due to melting sea ice caused by climate change.
