Anthony Schloegel signs letter of intent to play tennis at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College

On Monday, April 30, St. Patrick Catholic High School Senior Anthony Schloegel signed his Letter of Intent to play tennis at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Schloegel has been a member of the Fighting Irish Tennis Team since his freshman year. He has qualified and competed in the MHSAA State Tennis Competition for several years.

On signing to play at the next level, Schloegel said, “I enjoyed the atmosphere at St. Patrick and the hard work that everyone brought to practice each day. I plan to bring a good attitude and hard work that I’ve established in high school to the MGCCC Tennis Team.”

SPCHS Tennis Coach Zach Villarrubia said, “Anthony brought a fantastic fighting spirit and competitiveness on the court and a desire to always win. It’s always hard to replace the type of leadership Anthony has shown, both on and off the court. I hope that he’s successful on the tennis court and know that he will be. I also hope that he has success in the classroom and with anything else he pursues.”

Congratulations and good luck as you move on the play at the next level, Anthony!
