Basketball celebrates senior night and plays Lumberton

Tuesday night, the girls and boys varsity basketball teams competed against Lumberton for senior night. The girls fought hard, but weren’t able to pull out a win with the final score being 43 Irish and 50 Lumberton. Key players of the game were Lillie Guida, Mary Tubb, Taylor Ibele, Emilee Nolte, Gabby Patino, and Makenzie Stenum. Senior Lillie Guida had this to say about the matchup, “It was a bittersweet game. We all played as hard as we could to pull out a win for our senior night, but you win some, you lose some. We have a couple of more games but I wouldn’t have wanted to play with any other girls my final year at St. Patrick!!” In between the games, the senior players were recognized for their time spent at St. Patrick. Each player presented their family members with flowers, and then received gifts themselves from their coaches and teammates. The boys then went on to defeat Lumberton in a very exciting game with the final score of 63 Irish to 48 Lumberton! Braden Fayard had a great dunk to finish the night, with points also scored by Logan Young, Jacob Salminen, Tucker Santiago, Carson Bishop, Will Lavers, and Robby Waltz. The teams play again on Thursday, February 8th at home against North Forrest, with the girls beginning at 6 and boys at  7:30! Try to make it out for one of their last regular season games! Go Irish!!
