Benoit named 2022 Bill Griffith Art Educator Fellow

BILOXI, Miss.- Congratulations to Art Teacher Jean Benoit on being named the 2022 Bill Griffith Art Educator Fellow. The Bill Griffith Art Educators Fellowship is designed to change lives in unexpected ways for K-12 art teachers and indirectly for their students by providing them an opportunity for immersion in the creative and inspiring atmosphere that is Arrowmont.

One teacher from the United States is selected annually for a four-week residency during Arrowmont’s signature summer workshop program. The Fellowship recipients receive a studio, meals and housing, enrollment in a one-week workshop and may visit any workshops in session during their residency.

Mrs. Benoit has worked for 25 years as a professional, primarily high school, educator of history, music and art. She currently teaches visual arts and ceramics.  In addition to teaching high school students, Benoit instructs continuing education workshops for adults in painting, weaving, and ceramics. She is ceramic studio assistant and an instructor at the Ohr O’Keefe Museum of Art.

Benoit will complete her Fellowship at Arrowmont this summer.
