Bleichner, Bruffey selected for Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Junior Youth Leadership Program

Ninth graders Beyla Bleichner and Emma Bruffey have been selected to partake in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Junior Youth Program. After submitting an application, both girls have been accepted into this honorable program. Twice a week, Bleichner and Bruffey will work alongside top student leaders at other schools at the Biloxi Visitors Center and learn about various life skill preparing them for the future.  Students from various schools along the coast are accepted into this Chamber of Commerce Junior Youth Program. Over the years the students that have participated in this program have found it to be very interesting, educational, and beneficial. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce maintains the objective to connect, inform, advocate, and develop our community.

Each session, students learn about and how to develop a different life skill. For example, during the session last week, the class learned about and and attended a seminar about etiquette and manners. The next session will be focusing on cultural diversity wherein students will have the opportunity to learn about the different cultural aspects of other places.

Both girls appreciate such a great opportunity that they have been given. Bruffey states, “It was an honor to be accepted into such a great program. I am excited to learn about many new aspects that I can use in my everyday life for years to come.” Bleichner remarks, “This program helped me make new connections with students around the coast. I look forward to going to the program every week!”

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization comprised of businesses throughout the Gulf South, and the goal is of the organization is to strive to improve the business climate through fostering leadership, advocating for business, and providing information to the community. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce partners with the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce, Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, and Pass Christian Chamber of Commerce.
