Bratton, Lorenzo commit on National Signing Day

BILOXI, Miss.- St. Patrick Catholic High School is proud to announce that two more students have committed to play football at the collegiate level. Blake Bratton ’22 and Hunter Lorenzo ’22 both signed letters of intent during National Signing Day.

“On behalf of the faculty and coaches at St. Patrick, we are very proud of Blake and Hunter for signing to compete athletically at the collegiate level on this National Signing Day,” Principal Dr. Matt Buckley said. “Both exemplify a commitment to excellence, and we are grateful for their parents and family for investing in Catholic education and look forward to watching them continue to compete for their respective institutions.”

Bratton who plays defensive back and outside linebacker signed with Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. Bratton is a Region 8-3A 1st Team selection and had 64 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 2 fumble recoveries during the 2021 season.

Lorenzo who plays offensive and defensive line signed with Pearl River Community College. He will join Jackson Kostmayer ’21 who signed with PRCC in 2021. Lorenzo, also a Region 8-3A 1st Team selection, had 74 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery on defense this past season for the Irish, while also grading out at 95% on the offensive line.

“I am very proud of Blake and Hunter, “Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Trey Bailey said. “Their efforts in the classroom and on the field of play did not go unnoticed, and I know they will represent themselves and St. Patrick well at the next level. Hunter and Blake both have very bright futures in both the game of football and life, and I look forward to watching them grow as young men and disciples of Christ.”
