Castanedo’s walkoff helps lady irish pull off the win
Wednesday night, the lady Irish softball team played the longest game in our schools history. The Irish played 6A Harrison Central to a nail biting 9-8. In twelve innings, after a lot of back and forth, and some interesting calls the Irish fought to win the game. Anna Grace Castanedo hit the walkoff for the Irish. Sarah D’Aquilla and Raven Blackwell contributed greatly on the hitting side of things and D’Aquilla got the win in the circle after her sister, Anna D’Aquilla came out in the ninth inning. The girls will compete next week in the second round of the playoffs. Come out and wish them the best on their road to state!
