Class of 2023 experiences spiritual retreat

On Wednesday, March 27, the Class of 2023 had its annual spiritual retreat. The retreat was held at the Sacred Heart Center in Biloxi and was hosted on by the Campus Ministry Team. The day focused on students respecting themselves, respecting others, and respecting God.

Through the course of the day, the class participated in fun activities to help them grow in their spiritual life and listened to “ah-ha” moments from older students. As symbols of respecting others, the class made blankets out of fleece to be donated to Back Bay Mission, where they would be distributed to those in need. Each student tied a knot on the edge of the blanket and said a prayer intention that they had.

Theology Teacher Mrs. Cloud said, “I loved seeing the ninth graders come together to grow spiritually and bond as a class. They had a lot of fun, but they also focused on important matters, like building one another up and recognizing that everyone has trials and temptations and ups and downs. It is such a blessing for them to spend time together praying with and for one another.”

Ninth grader,Olivia Seymour, said, “Respect yourself enough to walk away from something that God is trying to say isn’t for you, because He respects you enough to tell you that you are worth more in His eyes. “

The day ended with Adoration at Nativity Cathedral in Biloxi.
