Community leaders gather for Supervisor Connie Rockco’s Morning Call
St. Patrick hosted many community leaders Friday, February 22, for Harrison County District 5 Supervisor Connie Rockco’s Morning Call, in partnership with the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce. The event started with an address from Ms. Rachael Seymour, the director of the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce, followed by an address from Mrs. Christen Duhe`, Chair of the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce.
SPCHS Student Body President Jamie Stanovich led prayer at the event and SPCHS Junior Todd Fayard led the Pledge of Allegiance. Principal Buckley then gave a brief welcoming address and commended Mr. Joe Canizaro for his service to St. Patrick and the Diocese of Biloxi.
Supervisor Connie Rockco spoke on the economic developments of the 5th district of Harrison County and her vision for the future. She also spoke of new infrastructure developments in the district and the plan to expand Tradition into a medical city. Lastly, Stacey Pickering, executive director of the Mississippi Veterans Affairs Board, announced that a 100-bed veterans nursing home will be constructed at Tradition in the coming years. This was an excellent opportunity for community leaders to see our campus and meet some of our students.
Principal Dr. Matt Buckley said, ‘It was an honor to host the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Morning Call event with Supervisor Connie Rockco on campus at St. Patrick Catholic High School. The event provided business and community leaders the opportunity to learn more about recent updates and upcoming progress to be made in Harrison County’s District Five. I remain thankful for our partnerships with Tradition, Supervisor Rockco, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, and I look forward to future development in our community!”
