Fighting Irish basketball teams shut out Vancleave

On Tuesday, the varsity girls and boys basketball team competed against Vancleave with both teams shooting to victory. This was the first home game series, and the next home games will be next Tuesday in the St. Patrick Invitational Tournament against Sacred Heart.

SPCHS Senior Parker Frame, a varsity player, said,” Although it was a rough start, through the team’s hard work, we were able to come out on top and beat our rival Vancleave.”

The boys’ score was 52-42, with the St. Patrick boys winning. The girls’ score was 31-25, with the St. Patrick girls winning.  

SPCHS Senior Sarah D’Aquilla, a varsity player, said, “We fought hard all game, even when the other team was super aggressive. Everyone stayed focused and I’m so proud of everyone for our first victory of the year!”
