Fr. Greg Barras celebrates Mass at St. Patrick
On a rainy and dreary Thursday morning, the St. Patrick family gathered to celebrate another Mass together with Father Greg Barras. The readings on February 21 mentioned Jesus asking his apostles “Who do you say that I am?”
In his homily, Fr. Greg asked us how we would describe ourselves to others. Would we say we are a Christian? Do we show that we are Christian by how we treat others? Are our words and actions in line with our beliefs and descriptions of ourselves? All of these things were mentioned and led the student body to think deeply about the person Jesus wants them to truly become.
Making sure the students receive a solid and fruitful spiritual relationship is the most important of St. Patrick’s many goals. Because of this, students help conduct each Mass. Students are responsible for altar serving, first reading, responsorial psalm, second reading, prayers of the faithful, presenting the gifts, music, and much more. St. Patrick also has a Campus Ministry Team that leads students in their spiritual life throughout the year.
Mass is celebrated at 9:40 in the school cafeteria every Thursday morning. Adoration may be held some Thursday mornings as well. Family, friends and alumni are more than welcome to attend.
