French Club/Honor Society collecting Mardi Gras beads

Calling all revelers! The French Club/Honor Society is actively collecting Mardi Gras beads in Ms. Alexander’s room (206) starting today through this Friday, February 23. The beads will be dropped off to Gulf Coast Industries on Friday. Gulf Coast Industries gives jobs to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by recycling Mardi Gras beads.

The initiative was spearheaded by French Club/Honor Society President Mallory Edwards. She said, “I heard about [the program] through WLOX. I got the idea when I was going through all our Mardi Gras bags filled with beads and thought it would be a great use of our beads.”
