St. Patrick community enjoys pre-game Homecoming Tailgate

On Friday, September 14, St. Patrick had the annual Homecoming Tailgate and football game. Tailgating before the Homecoming game has become a tradition at St. Patrick. Many St. Patrick families gathered to celebrate Homecoming together. Tailgates get everyone excited before the football game and they help keep school spirit high. The tailgate had food, fun, and prayer before the game. This tailgate was to bring everyone together to share our school spirit before the game.

The Homecoming theme for this year was “Second Star to the Right.” Homecoming Week was filled with all kinds of fun activities. Every day at school students dressed up to show their school spirit with themes such as Disney Day, Conquest of the Seas, and Never Gonna Grow Up day. There were unique events during the week including the powderpuff football game, the blackout pep rally, Irish Idol, the student-teacher basketball game, the St. Patrick family picnic, and of course the Homecoming Pep Rally.

At the football game on Friday night, St. Patrick defeated Sacred Heart with a score of 39-21. At halftime the Homecoming Court maids were presented, and the 2018 Homecoming Queen is Grace McLoughlin. The Homecoming King was presented at the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night, and the 2018 king is Holden Hewes. Everyone enjoyed a successful and safe Homecoming Week at St. Patrick this year!
