Mr. Anderson's Challenge

Thursday, 21 January 2010

Mr. Anderson wanted to thank all who supported him through his Anderson Challenge. Every year, the Alliance for Catholic Education(ACE) picks a different Catholic school to fundraise for by way of a marathon. This year, ACE is raising money for the St. John Vianney School in Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Anderson will be running in the marathon this Sunday.

To raise money and support him this week, students and faculty bought raffle tickets in the Anderson Challenge to win a shot at designing Mr. Anderson's facial hair. The winner, as chosen by Ms. Dapremont, was Theresa McMackin and as you can see, her selection was "an order of sideburns please."

What is neat about St. John Vianney, is that this is the very school that Mr. Anderson first taught! When he was a sophomore at theUniversity of Notre Dame, he did a week-long shadow program where hewas able to observe a middle school math/science teacher for fivedays. On the fifth day, Mr. Anderson taught several lessons and so the teaching seed was planted!

Lastly, if you were wanting to buy a raffle ticket but didn't get achance to, or if you just want to support Mr. Anderson's running bid and Catholic education, please send him an email at: manderson@stpatrickhighschool.net   Donations will not be sent until mid-February so there is still time!
