St. Patrick Catholic High School Team Tempest 1927 will display and demonstrate their award-winning robot at Edgewater Mall in front of J.C. Penney on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  J.C. Penney is one of the national corporate sponsors for FIRST Robotics.

The winning alliance of Team Tempest and two other teams won the Bayou Regional competition in Westwego, LA in March and as a result, advanced to the national competition held in St. Louis.  They competed with teams from all over the world and finished in the top 25%.

At Bayou Regional, Team Tempest won the Engineering Inspiration Award, Autodesk Visualization Award, and the Underwriters Laboratories Safety Award.  At the national competition they won the Hardhat Pin safety award.
