Harrison County Patrolman Renee Wiggins was a guest speaker in Mrs. Peggy Campbell’s Computer classes on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. She presented an Internet safety program, “Netsmart,” to tell students how to use social networking safely. Students learned about what information should be and what should not be given out. She urged students to follow their parent’s guidelines. She reminded students that cyber bulling is illegal as well as sending out pictures/videos of inappropriate pictures. If someone chooses to do so, he/she can be arrested and if convicted, will be a “sex offender,” a label that will follow the person the rest of his life.
Patrolman Wiggins is also a member of the Harrrison County School Board and is a former DARE officer at St. James and Sacred Heart Elementary Schools.
