With sadness, the St. Patrick family will say goodbye at the end of this semester to our ACE teachers, Mr. Sean Dewey and Mr. Kyle Pounder.
Mr. Sean Dewey will be returning to his home state of Indiana where he will continue his education at the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. Of his time in Mississippi, Mr. Dewey said, “Teaching at St. Patrick has been a privilege. I have found the families and students to be incredibly welcoming and friendly. I will fondly remember my time here in South Mississippi. It will be sad to leave, but I am looking forward to being closer to family and friends, and I am excited about starting law school in the fall.”
Mr. Kyle Pounder has accepted a Ph.D fellowship in mathematics at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He will teach undergraduate math courses part-time while completing his own coursework. Like Mr. Dewey, Mr. Pounder will also miss St. Patrick and the Coast. He said, “The decision to leave to St. Patrick and Mississippi was a hard one to make. I have enjoyed tremendously my time here, and I am thankful for the students and families I have gotten to know. I look forward to this next opportunity to teach math at the college level.”
As second year ACE teachers, he and Mr. Dewey will graduate this July with their Master’s in Education from the University of Notre Dame as part the ACE 17 Class. Both ACE teachers wish to thank Mrs. McDaniel, their colleagues, and their students for making their two years at St. Patrick enjoyable.
The St. Patrick family wishes much success to these fine young men of whom we have grown so fond. We are grateful for their contributions to our school and our community and for their friendship.
