Interact Club helps with Cruisin’ the Coast
Last Sunday, September 30, Interact Club partnered with the Rotary Club to work Cruisin’ the Coast in Gulfport. The students in Interact Club sold food and drinks to the people who attended the event. Cruisin’ the Coast started 22 years ago, in 1996, as a festival to celebrate antique, classic and sleek vehicles, nostalgic music, and related events. Only about 374 vehicles registered the first year, but now over 8,000 vehicles register each year, making it the biggest special event in the state of Mississippi.
Interact Club Sargent of Arms, Teal Salloum, explained, “This was a great experience because it allowed me to connect with the community and celebrate the fun and exciting event. It was my first year to work the event and I was impressed with the cheerful environment. I loved looking at all the vintage cars and listening to good music with the Interact Club. I will definitely be attending this next year!”
