Interact Club participates in Laying of the Wreaths at Biloxi National Cemetery

On Saturday, December 1, Interact Club participated in the Sixth Annual Laying of the Wreaths, which was held at the Biloxi National Cemetery. Thousands of people were there in honor of family members, friends, and loved ones to take the time to lay a wreath on their graves for Christmas time. Every year, members from the Interact Club go to this event to lay wreaths on the graves of those who may not have loved ones to do it for them. Everyone who participates enjoys this and they hope to go again next year. More than 2,000 people came out this year and laid 20,000 wreaths. The wreaths will stay on the graves until the Christmas season ends.

Maddie Moak, a member in Interact and senior at St. Patrick, stated, “Participating in the Laying of the Wreaths was a very humbling and uplifting experience. It was crazy to see how many relatives and families were there to lay wreaths on the graves of their passed away loved ones. It was also a very large event and it was amazing to see how quickly the graves were covered with wreaths because of all the people out there willing to help out.”
