Interact club volunteers at the Children’s Health Fair
On July 23, The Interact Club volunteered at the annual Children’s Health Fair located at Edgewater Mall. This health fair is to help families in need and to bring awareness to check-ups and overall health for children. Many of the booths and businesses brought goodies for the children to have or take home. Edgewater Rotary Club asked the Interact Club to help with preparation and set up along with the face painting booth this year. A generous amount of children and families stopped by the face painting booth to receive beautiful designs on their faces.
Sophomore Marrisa Hanley was kind enough to volunteer on behalf of Interact Club. She shared her experience by saying, “It was very fun. I didn’t know any of the children or parents that came in, but it was nice to meet a lot of them. Volunteering is very rewarding, especially at the health fair.” Among the other booths were dentists, doctors, screenings, and check ups. The services provided were free to the public and benefited many families. Thank you to the Interact Club sponsor, Mrs. Lawson, for providing pictures for the photo gallery and for encouraging students to be involved in the community! Another thank you to all the volunteers in Interact Club for devoting their time and effort to the Children’s Health Fair.
