Junior high volleyball competes in intramural games

On Friday, the St. Patrick volleyball team held their second junior high intramural game.

The 2016-2017 school year will be the first year that St. Patrick will have intramurals for students to compete in. These intramurals will give not only the junior high volleyball players a chance to play, but also the rest of St. Patrick’s seventh and eighth grade students.

Since many schools on the coast no longer have seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams, the Friday matches will give junior high players the opportunity to practice and compete. Volleyball team captain Rosalyn Lindsey explained, “It is a great way for new students and prospective volleyball players to get an opportunity to meet new people and possibly find a sport they love to play.” Lindsey is glad to bring new players to the team, and she is excited to see that the future of the St. Patrick volleyball team looks so promising.

All seventh and eighth grade students are invited to compete in these games. Matches are held on Fridays from 3:15 to 4:15. The St. Patrick junior high team will compete against any students who want to play. Male students are invited to play as well, but they are limited to three players per team.

The next game will be held on Friday, August 26, in the gym. No sign up is necessary to play. Come join in the fun and support your Lady Irish volleyball team!
