Key club to sponsor “Tricks for Treats” next Friday, October 30

The St. Patrick Key Club is sponsoring the annual “Tricks for Treats” drive next Friday, October 30, in support of the Humane Society of South Mississippi.  The Humane Society of South Mississippi (HSSM) is the largest animal welfare organization in the state of Mississippi. Last year, HSSM cared for nearly 8,000 homeless pets.

The Humane Society will pick up these items Friday morning. Below are items that are currently needed by the Humane Society.

The following are those items that the Humane Society uses for direct animal care purposes:

  • Canned “Loaf-style” Wet Dog Food
  • Canned “Paté-style” Cat Food
  • Scoopable Cat Litter
  • Paper Towels
  • Dawn Dish Washing Liquid
  • Dog & Cat Shampoo
  • High-Efficiency Laundry Detergent
  • Bleach
  • Clorox Wipes
  • Blankets
  • Bath towels
  • Stainless steel food/water bowls
  • Laptop/Desktop Computers (for shelter data entry & management)
  • Digital cameras
  • SD cards

The following items are used to ensure that the animals in the Humane Society’s care are both physically and mentally stimulated during their stay here.

  • Dog Treats
  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Cat Treats
  • Spray bottles
  • Cat toys
  • Dog toys
  • Stuffable Kong brand dog toys (Large/XL size)
