Krass ’22 signs with Oregon State University
BILOXI, Miss.- St. Patrick Catholic High School is proud to announce that Nick Krass ’22 has signed with Oregon State University to play basketball. Krass has been playing basketball for the Fighting Irish since he started in seventh grade. During the 2021-2022 season, Krass had an average of 23 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3.3 steals per game.
“Nick has done a tremendous job on the court and in the classroom,” Athletic Director Trey Bailey said. “His work ethic is second to none, and that has shown in his athletic and academic abilities. I truly believe he was the best basketball player in the state of Mississippi this year, and Oregon State is not only getting his great play making ability, but also an incredible young man. Nick will be successful in whatever he chooses to do moving forward, and I am proud of him.”
Krass was approached by Oregon State by head coach is Wayne Tinkle after his named was passed around by a few head coaches. After touring the school and meeting the players, Krass says he knew he was right at home with the Beaver family. He says he looks forward to continuing his basketball career at the collegiate level.
“It is finally real and it is finally happening,” Nick Krass said. “It’s the first step to my ultimate goal to play professional basketball which makes me very excited.”
While at Oregon State, Nick plans to pursue a degree in business with hopes to continue his basketball career at the professional level.
