Lady Irish Volleyball Team celebrates Senior Night

On Wednesday, October 10, the Lady Irish faced the Lady Pirates in their last home game of the season. Unfortunately, the team lost,  but they ended the season celebrating their seniors.

The team celebrated senior night with each senior escorted out by their parents, where they  were greeted with a gift from a member of the team. The crowd was full of family and fans as the seniors took center court.

Senior Sydney Biggs said, “My favorite part of the whole season was spending time with all of my girls. I love them all so much! I am going to miss hanging with the little ones so much and I know they have great things ahead of them! I’m also going to miss my coaches, they constantly pushed me to the best I could be, and I’m so lucky that they were apart of my senior season.”

Senior Hope Williams said, “I loved this volleyball season. I’m sad it’s over. I loved riding the bus to the games with all of the girls! I’m going to miss the coaches and my girls so much!”

Senior Carly Loftis said, “My favorite part of my volleyball experience was getting to meet each of the new volleyball players every season and how our relationships grew on and off the court. I’m going to miss my coaches and the team very much, but I can’t wait to open up a new chapter of my life!”

Senior Elizabeth Simmons said, “My favorite thing was practicing on the court and hanging out in the locker room before the games. I am going to miss all of the ‘little girls’ — they made me laugh everyday!”

The Lady Irish finished their season on Thursday, October 11. The season was filled with victories and a lot of Irish pride! The seniors honored were Sydney Biggs, Hope Williams, Carly Loftis, and Elizabeth Simmons.
