National Junior Honor Society Inductions

On Thursday afternoon members of the eight and ninth grade were inducted into National Junior Honor Society. National Junior Honor Society is a prestigious club for the best scholars of our school. They participate in service and scholar projects throughout the year. Students must maintain a 3.5 grade point average to be able to become a member of the society. To apply, students were to fill out an application and write an essay. Mrs. Mays is the sponsor for the club and was in charge of putting together the induction ceremony, which was really nice. The officers explained each of the five pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, Citizenship. After that, the inductees were asked to recite an oath and had to sign their name in the book. Mr.Buckley talked to the new members about Discipleship and asked them to spread their own around the school. They received a certificate and enjoyed cake and refreshments with their parents. The ceremony was especially exciting for many of the proud parents and grandparents that attended.
