New candidates being accepted for 2018-19 Dyslexia Therapy Program

Candidates are now being considered for the 2018-19 dyslexia therapy program. This course is not included with regular tuition and is subject to additional fees. It is taught as an extension of the 3D school, which is the lab school for William Carey University. This course is designed for dyslexic students that are college bound; consequently, student’s must have documentation of an average or above average IQ. If a student is selected for admission to this course, academic credit is awarded through St. Patrick Catholic High School. This course may be taken for either elective credit or for English credit.

Requirements for consideration for admission are as follow:

  • Documentation of a dyslexia ruling by a certified diagnostician
  • Academic history and references for students new to St.Patrick
  • A student and parent interview

Due to the Academic Language Therapist Association guidelines, space is very limited and will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Traci Barrientos is the instructor for this course and is recognized by the International Dyslexia Association as a Level II Dyslexia Therapist, the highest level of certification offered. She is also a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) through ALTA and holds a Master of Education degree in Dyslexia Therapy from William Carey University.
