Robotics students travel to Baton Rouge for the second annual Red Stick Rumble

Teams of high school students from Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas came to Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge this past weekend to compete in the second annual Red Stick Rumble Robotics Festival and Competition.

Student-created robots competed in various events and were judged on its maneuverability and dexterity. NASA, the Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System, the Albemarle Foundation and Andymark sponsored the event, which is part of an effort to increase robotic programs in schools.

The St. Patrick FTC robot reached the final rounds and the FRC robot reached the semi-final rounds until elimination.  Approximately twenty of our members traveled to this event.  Some of our FLL teams also attended and got a “kick start” on their new season.

The major 2014-2015 FTC game will be revealed today!  A new season of robotics begins!
