SAVE Club plans Red Ribbon Week
On Wednesday morning, the SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) Club held a meeting for Red Ribbon Week. At this meeting, they discussed dues and upcoming projects such as Red Ribbon Week and Sock It To Drugs.
SAVE Club President Mary Catherine Kalil said, “Our club strives to promote non violence throughout our school community and to promote a positive peer influence on each other.”
Red Ribbon Week is a week-long event about discouraging students doing violent acts to themselves and others. On Monday, students will hang posters stating facts about drug and alcohol prevention. Tuesday, members will hand out smarties for any students who drives with a seatbelt. Wednesday is Sock It To Drugs Day, where students are allowed to wear crazy socks.
Member Jamie Stanovich said, “At the meeting this week, we discussed Red Ribbon Week and planned out all the events. The SAVE Club has been working very hard and we can’t wait to see how it turns out.”
The next meeting is next week and they will start making signs for the week. Dues are $5 and students can turn those into Carly Loftis.
