Several Fighting Irish swimmers qualify for state swim meet

The Swim team did very well at South State Swim Meet on Saturday in Laurel.  Both boys and girls teams finished in third place overall, behind St. Andrews and SSC/OLA.  State qualifying times are faster this year, and only the top twelve qualified swimmers will move on to the state meet in Tupelo on October 31.

The following Irish swimmers have qualified and are entered to swim at the State meet in Tupelo:

  • Laurie Pisciotta: 200 Freestyle, 100 FLY, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay
  • Kathleen McMackin: 200 IM, 100 Backstroke, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay
  • Annie Torp: 100 FLY, 200 Freestyle Relay
  • Jeanne Torp: 100 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke. 200 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay
  • Madison Gillam: 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay
  • Mary Agnes Mestayer: 200 Medley Relay
  • Corynn Hebert: 200 Freestyle Relay
  • Lindsay Holmes: 200 Freestyle Relay
  • Christian McKee: 200 IM, 100 Backstroke, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay
  • Sam Hewes: 50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Freestyle Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay
  • Gray Carpenter: 100 FLY, 100 Backstroke, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay
  • Will McMackin: 500 Freestyle, 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay
  • Clayton Stoddard: 100 BreastStroke, 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay
  • Jack McKee: 400 Freestyle Relay

 Although the following swimmers did not qualify for State in any individual events, they swam their best times for the season at South State:
