SPCHS Chaplain Father Ryan McCoy speaks to sophomores

Every Wednesday, Father Ryan McCoy visits students in Mrs. Previto’s sophomore classes. He gives talks on a variety of subjects like salvation history with Adam and Eve or interesting catechesis like apostolic succession. His talks are usually centered around one topic, and students ask their questions along the way. Sophomores look forward to hims coming every week and prepare all of their most pressing questions.

Father Ryan is always cheerful and lighthearted, making the talks more of a discussion between the students. From asking where the origins of angels came from to how we can reach true salvation, he is always prepared to give a thorough explanation, backed up with scripture.

Gavriella Persing spoke on Father Ryan’s discussions, saying, “I always enjoy the experience of furthering my knowledge of the faith. I think Father Ryan is very informative in his explanations, and I’m very thankful for his taking time out of his day to come.”
