SPCHS Class of 2024 Member Ian Snyder elected into The Order of the Arrow

Congratulations to St. Patrick Catholic High School Seventh Grade Student Ian Snyder for his recent election into the Order of the Arrow! The OA, as it is called, is the National Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America. It was organized in 1915 to recognize honor campers.

The purposes of the OA are to recognize those campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives, to develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit, to promote Scout camping, and to crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.

When asked about what he is most excited about regarding the OA, Ian said, “I get to camp more and serve my troop.” He continues, “There are so many skills that you can learn from Boy Scouts. My favorite are knife skills and fire skills.” Ian also added that his favorite part of the program is hanging out with and working on projects with friends.

Great job Ian!
