In this combination of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Much Ado About Nothing, piled under a mound of homework, tests, pop quizzes, and essays, Monica, Jason, Riley, Andrea, and all of the students at their middle school cannot seem to find any time for their any part of their social lives, especially the Sixteenth Annual Super Sweetheart’s Dance Extrava-Palooza, which is just around the corner. Principal Hart, angry that the students and teachers are too chaotic, has threatened to cancel the dance unless Jason and Riley, the school pranksters, can get people to get along.
Jason and Reilly come up with an idea to get their heartbreakingly single teachers to fall in love so that they can get less homework. Their inspiration for the plan is A Midsummer Night’s Dream, their school play. They plot to bring their math and science teachers together, and, in the most High School Musical-esque way, they plan to bring their warring theatre teacher and basketball coach together. This play within a play is packed with comedy, Shakespearean puns, and many twists and turns that will keep the audience engaged!
