St. Patrick High School Update: COVID-19

Following is a statement from Principal Dr. Matt Buckley sent to all St. Patrick families regarding COVID-19.

Dear St. Patrick Families:

We continue to closely monitor the spread of the Coronavirus into our area. The health, safety, and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff remains at the forefront of our thoughts and our decisions.

At this time, we have not made the decision to close school.

Even though we do not want to close school, we must be prepared in case that is the direction we have to go. In the event we do need to close school, all classes will be taught virtually through Canvas. Teachers will utilize video capabilities and ensure lessons remain interactive and engaging.

All non-essential travel is cancelled until further notice – this includes all field trips.

We will not have our partner elementary schools on campus Tuesday for St. Patrick’s Day as originally scheduled. We will work to reschedule this in the future.

As of now, Shamrockin’ the Coast is still scheduled for March 28. If that changes, we will let everyone know as soon as possible.

At this time, we have not cancelled any athletic events; however, we will follow recommendations from the Mississippi Department of Public Health and the Mississippi High School Activities Association.

We will continue to update all families if there are any changes. If you have questions or need any assistance, please let me know.

All the best,
Matt
