St. Patrick participates in Pasta for Pennies Student Series service fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Students are encouraged to donate their pennies for pasta from now until Friday, February 22, for the chance to win a lunch from Olive Garden! The total fundraising goal is $3,500, and members of Student Council are working on creative ways to raise more money than ever this year. All teachers whose classrooms reach Gold Level (raising over $300) will be treated to a “deep clean”of their rooms. The first period class that donates the most money will receive a pasta party during their lunch.
This fundraiser raises money through Pasta for Pennies Student Series for children who are suffering with cancer. This is a competition between all first period classes, and our school’s contribution is always appreciated by the Leukemia and Lymphoma society.
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Through the Student Series campaign, children, teachers, parents and school administrators are able to directly support the mission of LLS by participating in Pasta for Pennies Student Series.
To help first period classes raise some money, this Monday we will be duct taping Dr. Buckley to a wall during first period as a part of the Pasta for Pennies fundraiser. A strip of duct tape will cost $2, and all students that bring money to purchase duct tape will be able to participate in the event by taping him to the wall! Let’s make sure there is plenty of duct tape! All money raised will go into your first period’s box.
