Alex Moore has been selected to serve as a page for Mississippi Senator Tommy Gollott (District 50 – Harrison County) beginning February 26. Senator Gollott is the longest-serving Mississippi legislator in office. When asked about the week, Alex said, “I am excited to represent my family and St. Patrick in Jackson.”
Pages generally work on the floor of the Senate, bringing bills and running errands for officials and staff in Jackson. Senator Gollott is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the National Society of State Legislators as a life member. His committee memberships include Ports and Marine Resources (Chair), Appropriations, Economic Development, Elections, Highways and Transportation, Local and Private, Rules and Tourism. His legislative experience is extensive, as he was a member of the House of Representatives from 1968-1980, and he has served in the Senate since 1980.
Alex is the son of Kevin and Beth Moore. “This will be a great experience and a good opportunity for Alex to see our state government in action,” said Beth Moore.
