Students in Physical Science participate in metal heating lab

Last Monday, October 22, students in Mrs.Worrel’s physical science class participated in a lab about heating different metals. The students were given several different types of elements to put over a flame, which caused the elements to turn different colors.

“We’re learning about all of the different elements on the periodic table, and this lab shows what happens when electrons are in motion, as they give off energy in the form of light,” said Mrs.Worrel.

Junior Emma Marsland said, “The lab was very interesting. It was really cool to see how the different elements made the flame turn into a vibrant color.”

The physical science class performs a new lab with every new chapter.
