Students take part in Pathways 2 Possibilities
BILOXI, Miss.- On November 17, 2021, the Class of 2026 took part in the 8th Annual Pathways 2 Possibilities expo at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention Center in Biloxi, MS. As the eighth graders made it to the expo, they explored all that the event had to offer. The event itself showcased different careers and occupations that the students may want to go in. Often, students are posed the question, “What career do I want to go into when I graduate?” Many students do not have an exact answer for this question. The purpose of the event was to enable the eighth graders to be informed on possible careers that may interest them in the future.
Chaperone and Technology teacher Ms. Gryder spoke on the event saying, “P2P allows the eighth graders to experience different careers with hands-on involvement while making memories with their classmates. The excitement and enthusiasm in their stories at P2P is great to listen to, and in many ways, P2P gives them an understanding of careers they were aware of and many that they were not mindful even existed. P2P is a wonderful program.”
Pathways to Possibilities is an event designed for eighth graders to explore careers that may interest them. From aerospace to medicine and health, students come to the expo to explore what they might want to pursue as a career. Careers that are represented at the expo include agriculture, architecture, arts, business, education, energy, engineering, government, health, hospitality, law, marine science, and many others. Many vendors and businesses attend the event to answer any questions that the students may have about their careers.
