University of Mississippi recruiter speaks with St. Patrick students
On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, Ole Miss recruiter, Tirranny Nettles returned to St. Patrick during lunch with more information on scholarships and housing. She also answered any questions students interested in Ole Miss had.
When discussing financial aspects, Tirranny said she wants people to know that “one of the most important aspects of picking an institution is picking an affordable institution and I believe that Ole Miss is definitely that place, we work really hard to accommodate our students and provide financial assistance in every way possible, we have two different types of scholarships: our academic excellence award and our competitive award. It is my job to make sure that every St. Patrick student is aware of the opportunities that can be affordable to them. Picking an institution is great, but paying for it is the hard part, and that’s why I’m here to help.”
Senior, Alexa Carter said “The Ole Miss recruiter was awesome and did a great job informing me of all the opportunities that are available. It was really helpful to have her answer questions in person during lunch.”
The recruiter also worked with students to discuss how to setup individual tours of the Ole Miss campus. Jeanne Torp was one of the many students that took time to talk with the recruiter and have all her questions answered, and learned how to set up a tour. Jeanne said “it was really nice to have a recruiter here and help me through the college process a little bit, even though I’m a junior, college is getting closer.”
