Varsity boys soccer defeats Wesson in first round of playoffs
Tuesday night, the varsity boys played Wesson at home during the first round of the playoffs. The Irish fought through the rain and the cold to come out with a well-fought 9-1 victory.
Eiland Stebly led the team, scoring five goals, with Tyler Barton not far behind scoring three goals, and Eric Million scoring one goal for the team. A good defensive effort was put in by Tyler Barton, Chad Hudson, and Luke Seicshnaydre; the team didn’t allow any shots on goalie Peter Holland.
Senior, Eric Million when asked about the game replied “the team played hard and worked well together. If we keep up the same intensity, we will sure be able to defeat St. Andrews this Saturday.” Juan Carreon stated, “The game went great, even though it was raining we played with good teamwork and played a successful game.”
Coach Camps said, “It was a very wet game, you really have to love coaching and soccer during these types of games. The game was good however we were hoping for more of a challenge, but the team is pumped to go to the next level of playoffs.”
The team played a fantastic game and fought hard through the rain and the cold to capture another victory for the team. Make sure to come out and support the boys as they continue on in the playoffs during the next round against, St. Andrews this Saturday at 370 Old Agency Rd, Ridgeland, MS at 2:30 p.m.
