
William Burke hired as Social Studies Teacher for 2022-2023 School Year
Principal Dr. Matt Buckley announces today that William Burke has been hired as a Social Studies Teacher and Coach at St. Patrick Catholic High School for the 2022-2023 school year.
Burke is a native of Biloxi and a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelors of Science degree. Burke taught, coached, and volunteered at Sacred Heart High School in Hattiesburg.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Burke to our team,” Principal Dr. Matt Buckley said. “His passion for teaching and coaching give us great confidence that he will be an excellent addition to our staff.”
Burke is a lifelong parishioner of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where he served as an Altar Server, participated in youth ministry, and held leadership roles within the Diocese of Biloxi as a Spirit Mover and member of the SEARCH team. Burke broadened his faith by attending several March for Life events in Washington, D.C., completed N.D. Vision at the University of Notre Dame, and traveled to Poland for World Youth day hosted by Pope Francis.
In addition to teaching social studies courses, Burke will also serve as the head junior high girls basketball coach and assistant football coach.
