Winter Weather Advisory Update

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Much colder air is moving into the region and due to the winter weather and clouds today, temperatures will not rise much above the mid 30s. Later this evening, temperatures are expected to continue to fall and drop below freezing. One significant concern is black ice. There will be quite a bit of residual moisture on the ground. Once the temperatures fall below freezing bridges, overpasses, and any other elevated roadway with water on it will quickly begin to freeze.

We have made the decision to cancel all athletic events and extracurricular activities for this evening. School will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. today, and our buses will run their regularly scheduled routes this afternoon.

Below are the schedule changes we have made.

• Tonight’s basketball games have been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date.
• Tonight’s drama production has been cancelled. Tickets purchased for tonight’s production may be used at either Saturday’s or Sunday’s prodcution. Saturday’s production is at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday’s production is at 2:00 p.m.
• Junior high soccer games scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled. Our coaching staff will be in contact with parents and athletes about any changes.
