GENERAL INFORMATION (ADDITIONS)

Available Scholarships - Mississippi Gulf Coast Community Foundation (Read through this list to see if any apply to you. The Jeremiah and Annette O’Keefe Scholarship will be available in January).

MTAG—Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant—to qualify for the MTAG a student must have a minimum 15 on the ACT and a minimum 2.5 GPA. The MTAG is $3,000 over four years.

MESG—Mississippi Eminent Scholar Grant—to qualify for the MESG, a student must have a minimum 29 on the ACT and a minimum 3.5 GPA. The MESG is $10,000 over four years.

College/University

Most of your scholarship money will come from the college/university. Once you have been accepted, you will be directed to available scholarships.

ACT and AP Exams—you must contact ACT and/or College Board and have your scores sent directly to the college/university.

TRANSCRIPTS—You must complete the online transcript request. Mrs. Holliman sends all official transcripts. (Please do not email her).

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATIONS—Please give the person 2 weeks notice and your resume. If you are asking me to write a letter of recommendation, please send me a few paragraphs about yourself. As I stated in a previous email, I like to make your letter of recommendation personal and not “rewrite” what is on your resume.

COMMUNITY AND GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS (I am giving you handouts of these two scholarships, but watch your emails. As I receive community and general scholarship opportunities, I will send them to you.
